Nelle Harper Lee was born on April 28 1926.She lived in Monroeville, Alabama, United States. She was the youngest of 4 children. Harper attended school at Monroe Country High School, where she developed an interest in English Literature. She initially went to an all girls college then transferred to the University Of Alabama where she studied Law for several years . She stopped her studies in Law and pursued her passion for writing. In 1949 she moved to New York
Harper was most famous for her best-selling novel ” To Kill A Mocking Bird” which was published in 1960. In 1961 it won a Pulitzer Prize. Harper was also awarded the Presidential Medal Of Freedom.
